      Architecture & History

Designed in the 1960s by Georgian architects Lado Alexi-Meskhishvili and Teimuraz Mikashavidze, the Telegraph building originally served as Tbilisi’s central post and telegraph office and became a key Soviet-era landmark. Celebrated for its Soviet modernist style, it was awarded the National State Award in 1983. With its distinctive façade, grand cornices, and seamless integration into the city’s sloping terrain, the building remains an architectural icon on Rustaveli Avenue.

Today, under the vision of Silk Road Group’s George Ramishvili, it has been thoughtfully restored - preserving its soul while introducing refined, contemporary elegance.
